CM-Focus LLC dba SocialHire (“SocialHire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website socialhire.io and related services. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our platform, visit our website, or communicate with us — including via SMS text messaging.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

This policy applies to all users of socialhire.io, including job seekers, employers, and visitors. For SMS-specific terms, see Section 4 — SMS Communications.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as information gathered automatically when you use our services.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and improve our hiring platform and services
  • To create and manage your account
  • To match job seekers with relevant job opportunities
  • To send transactional communications (confirmations, alerts, reminders)
  • To send promotional and marketing communications where you have consented
  • To send SMS messages where you have explicitly opted in (see Section 4)
  • To process payments and prevent fraud
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
  • To respond to customer support inquiries
  • To analyze usage trends and improve user experience

We will not use your personal information for purposes materially different from those listed above without your consent.

SMS communications

SocialHire operates an SMS messaging program. If you have opted in to receive text messages from us, the following terms apply.

Consent. We will only send you SMS messages if you have explicitly opted in through one of our designated opt-in methods. Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Opt-out. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. You can re-subscribe at any time by texting START or by visiting our opt-in page.

Help. For help with our SMS program, reply HELP to any of our messages, email info@socialhire.io, or call (415) 390-5887.

No sharing for marketing. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. SocialHire is not responsible for any charges from your carrier.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processors, SMS delivery providers, analytics). These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it for the services they provide to us.
  • Employers. If you are a job seeker, your profile information may be shared with employers using our platform in connection with your job applications.
  • Legal compliance. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SocialHire, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website prior to any such transfer.
  • With your consent. We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform.

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (login sessions, security)
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use our site (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Preference cookies — remember your settings and preferences
  • Marketing cookies — used to deliver relevant advertisements (only with consent)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our services. We honor Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

SMS opt-in records and consent logs are retained for a minimum of 4 years to comply with TCPA requirements, even after you have opted out of SMS communications.

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Your Rights below), subject to legal retention requirements.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal information (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing — opt out of promotional emails or SMS at any time
  • Restriction — request that we restrict the processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is sold and to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Send an email notification to registered users where required
  • Post a prominent notice on our website
